Audi R8 2016 : First Look

The 2016 model that will be shown live for the first time in Geneva next week hones the R8 into more of a pure sportscar.

The second generation of Audi's R8 supercar brings a welter of changes throughout – starting with a power increase in the top-line R8 V10 plus to 610 hp, creating a car capable of hitting 62 mph in 3.2 seconds, the fastest production Audi ever.

The new aluminum-and-carbon chassis will also be the source of an all-electric R8 e-tron capable of going 280 miles on a charge, and the R8 LMS race car.

In typical Audi fashion, the styling changes inside and out involve alterations rather than renovations — although the new R8 face looks tauter in every direction, the dimensions have barely changed.
